Provincial Day of Action: Each year, the PAC decides on a provincial policy ask. Medical students make a trip to Victoria to meet with MLAs and other stakeholders to discuss this ask. The months leading up to each Provincial Day of Action involves research, policy development, paper writing, and stakeholder consultations.
CFMS National Day of Action: Some of what we do is help plan and implement CFMS Lobby Day. At this event in Ottawa, medical students from all over Canada meet to lobby the Canadian Parliament on a specific ask. UBC is pleased to send four student representatives to CFMS National Day of Action each year.
Other Initiatives: PAC is a space for UBC medical students to gather and organize around political issues and health policy initiatives. If you have suggestions or have issues you’re passionate on advocating about, give us a shout!
