Born in Vancouver and raised in France, I returned to my West Coast roots on Vancouver Island to attend UVic and study the inner workings of the brain. This sparked a fascination for anything tiny that occasionally or tonically fires an action potential. Now in my second year of medical school, I have assumed the role of IMP Site Lead for the 2022-2023 period! As the IMP site lead, I plan to support IMP student initiatives from all cohorts, which includes financing social and club events, promoting medical student engagement with the UBC Medical Alumni Association, and facilitating student-faculty interactions!

During my first term as NMP site lead I am excited to showcase the interests of NMP student to faculty, MUS, and the Medical Alumni Association. I also hope to support NMP class council, promote connectivity between NMP classes, and support site specific initiatives. In my spare time I love paddle boarding, cooking, and travelling!

He is a 2nd year Southern Medical Program (SMP) student and is serving his first term as SMP Site Lead. In this position, Tushar represents the interests of SMP students, faculty, and community stakeholders. He provides support to the SMP Site Class Councils and acts as the primary liaison between MUS and Class Councils. Additional responsibilities also include fair allocation of SMP finances, advocacy for site-specific initiatives, and promotion of inclusivity and connectivity among the SMP cohorts. Outside of medicine, Tushar enjoys basketball, photography, exploring the hiking trails of BC, and spending time with his friends and family.

Fran Perry

Vice President Academic Jr.

perryf@student.ubc.ca

I am a current 3rd year student and doing my clerkship in the rural integrated program in Duncan on Vancouver Island. Originally from VFMP, I had the pleasure of serving as the VFMP VP Academic for both my first and second years of medical school. My class was the COVID class, so we had to start med school completely isolated from one another, especially in the Vancouver program. This presented some really unique opportunities and challenges as a student leader. I learned a heck of a lot from this and I am now representing the academic needs and concerns of all UBC medicine on an internal and national level. My main goal for this year is to strengthen ties within UBC's academic leaders so that we can lend our voices to collective and/or recurring academic issues to enact meaningful change for current and future students.</div?
